Monique Bedwell’s first solo exhibition, I’ll tell you about it over tea brings together painting, sculpture and installation, and is an exploration of travel and tea, individual and shared experiences.

Bedwell’s practice taps into the meanings and associations ascribed to found and recycled materials. By painting on their surfaces, Bedwell reimagines landscapes and delves into environmental issues.  Here, teabags are used as a vehicle – not for dried leaves, but for paint, memories, stories and ideas.

Come to her Artist Talk on Sunday 14 October, at 3pm.

Mon is a graduate of UNSW Art and Design and exhibiting artist at this year’s Sculpture by the Sea.  Follow her on instagram.

SAS Solo Exhibition Mentoring Program

Monique Bedwell is the first artist that has worked through our newly established mentoring program for early career artists wanting to undertake their first solo exhibition.

Under this program artists are supported and assisted with the development and evolution of concepts through to the mechanics of producing works and planning installation and organisation of a solo exhibition.
