Anna Spencer

Opening Event / Wednesday 3 April, 6 -8pm
Runs / Thu 4 – Sun 16 April 2019

We’re so happy to have Anna back to exhibit with her second solo show at Scratch.

‘Out Bush’ is an attempt to express what Spencer has been experiencing the past year living remotely in the Northern Territory. Rather than just romanticize the desert, this exhibition explores the subtle beauties and nuances of living in a community. Located in the Tanami desert, Lajamanu is extremely remote, allowing Spencer to focus in on her immediate surroundings and contrast them to distant greener places. ‘Out Bush’ is an ongoing collection of paintings and drawings that come together to create a specific moment of Spencer’s observations.

Anna graduated with a double degree in a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Textiles and Theatre & Performance Studies, at the UNSW.

Now based in the remote community of Lajamanu, Northern Territory, Anna is employed as an Arts Co-ordinator.
