Hugh Van Schaick
Opens Wed 26 June / 6 – 8pm
Runs 27 June – 7 July 2019
Hugh’s current body of work considers ideas of ritual, mortality and the strangeness of the human condition. The works offer a suggestion of how, despite our differences, at our core we share common desires and rituals which define our humanity. The idea of the cicada represents our mortality, which we each welcome in our day to day lives in an absurd play with death.
Hugh Van Schaick is an emerging artist based in Sydney who completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at COFA and his Graduate Diploma of Fine Arts at the National Art School.
