We welcome Rachael Helmore as Gallery Assistant & Curator
Rachael is well positioned for a long career in the creative arts with experience working in distinguished institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Gallery of NSW, as an educator for the Sculpture by the Sea event, and teaching art to children. She is currently a candidate for a Masters of Curating at University of Sydney and previously completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of NSW, majoring in Printmaking and Anthropology.
Rachael’s own art practise is aligned with our observational skills-based program as she works directly from life as an exercise in observation, that’s directly translated and documented into a visual language primarily through drawing. With this approach her work is direct, open and flexible enough to capture the energy, form, movement, the life of an environment or situation.
We’re looking forward to supporting Rachael with her curatorial career and can’t wait to see the Gallery expand and grow as her own curatorial skills and practise develop and flourish.
