Interactive is a solo exhibition of mixed media from Rhett Boland.

Boland’s artwork suggests and implies a variety of entities. Whilst it includes realistic representations, it is evident that his work both challenges and yet acknowledges the time-honoured principles, elements, styles and movements in Art. 

One could gather that his intention is to create interesting and layered art that is still accessible and relatable. His work focuses on visually representing the mysterious internal world in each of us. 

Rhett’s artwork draws on that concept of a shared unconscious, a communally felt sense of identity. His work is a vehicle to allow us to explore our thoughts, emotions and memories with images that are somehow familiar.

There is an intensity and passion apparent in his art. The viewer is drawn into his work, an emotional connection is made and it evokes a visceral reaction. 

In his art, Rhett invites the viewer to participate on their inner journey, whether they stand resisted or attracted to the piece in front of them.
