Virginia Settre graduated in 2017 with an Honours Degree in Fine Art at Curtin University, Western Australia. Currently based in Wollongong, Virginia has curated and exhibited a collaborative Project titled Stereoscope in the Wollongong Art Gallery. She is also an active member of the Illawarra Association for the Visual Arts.
Land-Scope alludes to societal perceptions of nature in contemporary times through photography and painting.
The photographs suggest an ambiguous sense of memory where landscape resides as cultural nostalgia. The paintings hint at the fleeting moments when we savour the natural environment; albeit through a cultural lens.
