and poetic form.

We welcome Newcastle Artists participating in the second instalment of our 2018 Arts Connex Project, featuring NSW Regional Artists.
Artists
Graham Wilson
Graham is a printmaker, stonemason, painter, graphic designer and joint founder of The Creative Incubator in Hamilton North, Newcastle. His love of nature is seen through the range of media that he works in – pictured here is his large scale wood carving, ‘Awabakal’.
Lyndal Campbell
The subject matter of Lyndal’s richly coloured, multi-layered works are drawn from memory, imagination and her immediate environment. Having previously worked in both naïvety and abstraction, she has more recently fused these distinct parts of her practice
Hugh Grant
“My works explore concepts shaped by the aesthetic consideration of trees and the landscape…Primarily my work focuses on using bonsai design as the forefront of practice, taking the practice and melding it into a new aesthetic from the cultural point of view as an Australian.”
Bridie Watt
Bridie’s paintings are teeming with joy and energy. Birds and other fauna often swoop into the scenes she creates, playing their part in the story told by her busy, colourful compositions.
MOTHER opens in two days! This Thursday 6 September, 6-8pm.
Gavin Vitullo
Gavin is the curator of MOTHER and one of the five exhibiting artists. With a multi-disciplinary practice, he works with a variety of materials including wood, stone, steel, plant material and paint.
