Time is an Illusion consists of twenty framed monochrome surrealist images based on an illusion called the Necker Cube, which, when observed spontaneously changes orientation.
This implies that visually, our brains can only comprehend one reality at a time and fluctuates when presented with two possible realities. Additionally the brain may try to amalgamate the two possible realities into an apparently sensible but impossible reality.
Time is an Illusion opened at Alternating Current Art Space, Melbourne in February 2017, and travels to Photo Independent, Los Angeles in April before returning to Sydney as an associate exhibition to the Head On Photo Festival in May 2017.
