Grace will give an Artist Talk on Sunday 21 May at 2pm
Grace’s natural ability to capture expressive images has earned her a multi-award winning portfolio and a successful career over the past 16 years in contemporary and commercial photography. She has exhibited her work throughout Australia, and was a finalist in the National Photographic Portrait Prize in 2014.
Grace mentors budding photographers and hosts master classes, and is frequently a guest lecturer at the Canberra Institute of Technology. She has also been an official judge and guest-speaker at a number of colleges and photography groups throughout the ACT.
Grace’s work has been acquired by many private collections both nationally and internationally. Her work is inspired by documentary photography, particularly character portraits.
An exhibition of new works from Grace Costa, featured in the Head On Festival celebrates her lifelong love of horses as handed down to her from her father, a well-regarded horse trainer.
Costa explores her innate attraction to horses through her lens, photographing unbridled horses in one of Canberra’s most treasured sites bringing them out of their natural surroundings. Costa exposes the form and character of the horses she has selected for this series.
Grace is currently represented by The Photography Room Gallery, Canberra.
